Here at British American Auto Care, we strive to incorporate sustainable principles in every facet of our business. From the recommendations we make for auto repairs to the incorporation of sustainable principles everyday around our facilities -- green business practices are a way of life. In fact, we have a long history of green advocacy. As early as 2000, we won an Small Business Energy Star Award from the EPA. More recently, in 2010 we won a Green Registry Leadership Award from the Maryland Department of the Environment. 
We follow strict energy saving and recycling methods. For example, in the workshop we recycle tires, batteries, scrap metal, oil, anit-freeze, cardboard, old parts and plastic oil containers. In fact, in the past year, we estimate that we've:
- Saved over 55 gallons of oil
- Recycled 4,705 plastic bottles (588 pounds of plastic)
Additionally, we have converted more than half of our landscaping into a natural area that does not require mowing and converted an area to garden plots for employees. The energy efficient lighting systems we have installed throughout our facility has allowed us to cut our energy use in half.
