Five Good Reasons to Buy Automobile Tires Locally vs. Online?

Some online tire sites, like Tire Rack, have a great range of tires and reasonable prices.  However, it's imoportant to look at the big picture when you're thinking about buying tires from an online tire service.

proper auto tire shipment mattersOne big problem we have had here at British American involves how the tires arrive.  Tires can end up being crushed and generally abused. Some online tire stores do not pack the tires properly to protect them during shipment.  Many that we have dealt with  just tack on a label and ship the tires. Sometimes the tires arrive flattened.  Not only is this bad for the tire, but it makes the tires a lot harder to inflate.

Buying tires locally, and specifically from British American has many advantages.  First of all the price is not a lot different.  You may pay a bit more but there are some important advantages of buying tires from us...

1. We know your car, and we know how you drive so we can suggest tires that reflect your personal driving habits.  Additionally, our personal consultation allows you to provide input so you can be confident that you are buying the right tires.

2. If there is a warranty issue with a tire then we are the only people responsible. You will not end up being bounced back and forward between an online company and an installer.

3. We cover your tires for road hazards and tire repairs. Tire repairs can cost from $40 to $60 because the industry standard for repairing tires requires that the tire be removed and inspected for damage on the inside.  Then, the actual repair is required to be a patch plug combination that is installed from the inside of the tire.

4. Our service advisors have access to tire experts so if you have a particular need and they don't know the answer they can find out quickly.

5. We have two tire delivery services a day by people who know how to look after tires.

The bottom line is, buying tires is a big investment. Be sure to pick who you buy from very carefully.
