Blister Sisters and Sand Castles

Sisters, Jill Ohlhoff and Sandi England recently participated in the National Multiple Sclerosis Walk on September 16th and 17th. The walk started at the Navy/Marine Corps Stadium early Saturday morning and finished Sunday at Pier 6 in the Baltimore Inner Harbor. Jill and Sandi raised over $3600 by walking the more than 30 miles.

“The first 15 miles were good. The last 5 miles on the first day we started to feel our feet and our newly formed blisters. We tried hard to prevent them, special blister free socks, special shoes and of course lots of mole skin. But us sisters, we got some blisters” Says older sister Jill. “But it was worth every one.”

Jill and Sandi would like to give a special thanks to all their friends and family who supported them in their walk. Especially, JP Supply, Decanter Fine Wines, Catonsville Auto Parts, Norlin Auto Parts, Billy Hillmuth of Hillmuth Certified Automotive, Raj Saini, Diane Brown, Harry Murphy of WMDA, and the Detroit Police Department.

Yes, they even got a donation from the Detroit Police Department!

OK, so know you’re all wondering why is the Detroit Police Department  sponsoring Jill and Sandi on their MS Walk.

Well, here's the scoop : - Sandi is already using her influence on her new fiancee!  Oh, I better start at the beginning.

In September the England family all went on vacation to Duck, in the Outer Banks, N.C.  - Brian and Jennifer, Jill and husband and daughter, and Sandi and her boyfriend, Jeffrey. They arrived late on the Saturday, but all were up early Sunday morning to enjoy the start of a great vacation.  “What shall we do first”  was the general discussion, until Jeffrey announced “Sandi and I are going to the beach” and out the door they ran.  Sandi was happy to feel the warm sand under her feet, but then she was surprised as Jeffrey knelt at her feet, pulled a small box from his bucket and asked “Will you marry me”?

Sandi contemplated, and decided she would like to build castles together, and said YES!

So, now back to the Detroit Police Department - Jeffrey’s father is a member of the DPD, and when Sandi is collecting for charity, no-one is safe. A call was made and the donation followed.
